Privacy Policy

A plain-English explanation of what happens to personal information when you browse this site or send a project enquiry.

LAST_UPDATED: 24 SEPTEMBER 2026

01 // Who we are?

BUILDAT is an independent software engineering and web development business operating at buildat.dev.

For questions about how personal information is collected, used or protected, please contact hello@buildat.dev.

02 // Information we collect

When you send a project enquiry, we receive your name, email address, any optional phone number, selected services, project status, estimated budget and the project brief you submit.

To secure the form and website, we also process technical information such as IP address, request and security logs, and the result of Cloudflare Turnstile verification. Please avoid including passwords, account credentials or unnecessary sensitive information in your project brief.

03 // Why we use the information

We use enquiry details to respond to you, understand your requirements, discuss potential work and follow up on your request. Where applicable, this is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).

We also have a legitimate interest in handling enquiries, maintaining business communications and preventing spam or abuse (Article 6(1)(f)). We may retain records where required to meet legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)).

Ticking the form's Privacy Policy acknowledgement confirms you have read this notice; it is not consent to receive marketing emails. We do not add you to a marketing mailing list simply because you submit an enquiry.

04 // Services involved

Cloudflare provides website hosting and security, including Turnstile bot protection. Resend delivers project enquiry emails. We use Gmail to receive and respond to correspondence. The site also loads web fonts from Google Fonts.

These providers may process relevant technical information or message content as necessary to provide their services. Cloudflare states that Turnstile does not access your form entries. For more details, see our Cookie Policy.

05 // International processing

Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Resend's data processing terms describe primary processing in the United States and contractual safeguards for applicable international transfers. Other providers maintain their own transfer safeguards and privacy information.

You can ask us for more information about the safeguards relevant to your enquiry at hello@buildat.dev.

06 // How long we keep information

For enquiries that do not lead to work, our intended retention period is: 12 months after the last contact.

Where a project proceeds, relevant correspondence and records may be retained for the duration of the relationship and any applicable accounting, legal or dispute-resolution period. Technical and security logs are retained according to our configured service-provider settings and operational needs.

07 // Your privacy rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to data portability. Email us to make a request or raise a data protection complaint.

You can also raise concerns with the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

08 // Security and external links

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect communications and the website. No internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

This website may link to third-party websites; their own privacy notices apply when you visit them.

09 // Updates and contact

We may update this notice when the website, service providers or our practices change. The revision date appears at the top of this page.
